Feb 6th: Dear Diary, Mew gave birth… Pokemon Birthdays and the art of Media History

It’s February 6th, a day like any other, right? WRONG! On this day, a momentous event occurred in the world of Pokémon. On this day, the world was blessed with the birth of one of the most powerful and iconic creatures of all time: Mewtwo.

That’s right, folks. February 6th is the day Mew finally pushed Mewtwo out into the world, after what was probably a pretty intense nine months (let’s just say psychic powers can make for a pretty intense pregnancy).

Mewtwo, being the genetically engineered Pokémon that it is, was probably eager to get out and start causing trouble from the very moment it was born. It probably didn’t even cry when it was first born, instead choosing to let out a psychic scream that shattered windows and caused widespread panic.

We can only imagine what Mew must have been thinking when she first saw her offspring. “Wow, I wasn’t expecting that,” she probably said. “I thought I was having a psychic baby, not a monster.”

Mewtwo quickly made a name for itself, becoming one of the most powerful and feared Pokémon in the world. It had a chip on its shoulder and a score to settle, and it wasn’t afraid to use its powers to get what it wanted. It’s a good thing it’s so adorable, or else it would have been a total disaster.

So, there you have it, folks. February 6th is the day Mew gave birth to Mewtwo and changed the Pokémon world forever. If you’re a fan of Pokémon, make sure to take a moment today to give thanks to Mew for her incredible feat of giving birth to such a powerful creature. If you’re not a fan of Pokémon, then congratulations, you just learned something new today!
